Since 2001 Transworld Technologies Inc. and its predecessors have studied the biology and geochemistry of in situ environments where microbes live.
The resulting technology includes environmental assessments and detailed studies of how microbial vitality can be improved. DNA sequencing is used to identify the presence and activity of microbial species and to assess their responses to chemical stimuli.
TTI has developed a patented technology for in situ microbial creation of low carbon, renewable biomethane in subsurface bioreactor reservoirs. Field trials have demonstrated biomethane creation at commercial rates.
TTI has also developed an ecosystem evaluation process, where predictive algorithms are used to correlate reservoir chemistry to associated microbiological communities which allows for a simple screening of a reservoir for its enhanced biomethane production potential.
